John Paul II

Monument located near the peak of the Leskowiec massive. Dedicated on July 15, 2001 the monument stands on one of the one of the higher mountaintops of the Small Beskid chain. It was a location very familiar and close to the heart of the Pontiff, his father having first taken him there when he was just 10 years old. Subsequently when visiting Poland the Pontiff on more than one occasion had requested helicopter crews ferrying him to pass by the mountaintop Familiar to the pontiff since his father took him
