Kościuszko Monument at the corner of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and 18th Street Philadelpdia, Pa. The 20 foot bronze statue by Marian Konieczny is the gift of the people of Poland to the people of America on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of American independence. The monument was dedicated on July 3, 1976. The Philadelphia Polish Heritage Society is responsible for giving the original impetus to the idea of erecting the monument and broadened the appeal so as to incorporate all Polish-American Organizations.
