Tadeusz Kosciuszko

Tadeusz Kosciuszko reconvalescing during his stay in London in 1797  by Richard Cosway. 101x125 cm.   In the collection of the Polish Army Museum

The scroll on which the sword rests states that it is a gift from "The Wig Club of England."

Kosciuszko's companion during his stay in England, J. U. Niemczewicz, remarked that this painting was a uniquely faithful portrait of Kosciuszko.
