Pulaski Day Debate

In 1973, the Illinois Legislature passed a bill designating the first Monday of March as the Pulaski Commemorative Day in Illinois. In 1986, Governor James Thompson signed a bill declaring the first Monday in March a state holiday. Although Pulaski Day is a state holiday in Illinois, some schools have decided to keep their students in school on that day.

Should students be in school on Pulaski Day or should they have the day off?
