Polish Studies at the University of Alabama
The Institution
Since its founding in 1831 in Tuscaloosa as the first public university in the state, the University of Alabama has been committed to providing the best,
most complete education possible for its students. The university offers Polish Language instruction but no other Poland-related courses. However, as detailed
below, a couple of faculty members do have Poland-related interests.

MAJOR INTERESTS: National and ethnic identity, East and Central Europe, globalization, and youth cultures. Her primary area of study is post-communist Poland, where she examines young Poles' (now in their mid-twenties) experiences of national identity and democratization.
