Study Abroad
- Summer Courses Taught Abroad: Poland
- PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Program introduces participants to many aspects of Polish
history, arts, culture, economy and politics. The group
travels to the former capital of Poland, the ancient city of Krakow,
for first-hand insight into Polish history. The program continues on
to Wroclaw, the "city of bridges," a major cultural and academic
center and the hub of Poland's electronic and high-tech industries.
The final few days are spent in Warsaw, Poland's capital and the
center of vibrant artistic life, international business and the home of
over twenty colleges and universities. Students taking the program can register for one of the following Study Abroad Courses:
- IT 402 - Topics in Technology,
An individualized inquiry of comprehensive study into a selected technical area. Open only to Industrial Technology majors
- TH 489: Studies in Theatre/Drama
Selected area of theatre and/or drama not covered in other courses.
- IS 490: Field Studies Abroad

Poland-related Resources
Polish Heritage Collection: Housed in the Elihu Burritt Library, the Collection of over 17,000 catalogued books and periodicals covers all topics related to the history and culture of Poland. There is also a substantial number of books about the history of the Polish American community.
International Collaboration
Institute of Business Studies (Szkole Biznesu) of the Cracow University of Technology was created in 1995 in collaboration with Central Connecticut State University. The studies at the Institute follow the American Business School model adapted to Polish needs. Students completing their studies at the Institute receive a certificate jointly from the Central Connecticut State University and the University of Technology. @
