COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The history of the Jewish people including their culture, religion, education, and economic conditions from the Babylonian exile (586 B.C.) through the present day; domination by Persia, Greece, and Rome; Jewish life in Babylonia and neighboring Eastern lands; Jews in the Western world from medieval to modern times; the development of Jewish communities and the distinctive features of life in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, England, Russia, Poland, and the United States; the world wars and the Jews; the State of Israel.
Polish Club
To propagate polish culture at brooklyn college community, and to enrich all interested students with the knowledge of polish culture and polish traditions. The mission of this club is helping its new members to make them feel at home and positively contribute to the brooklyn college institution itself.
