St. John Fisher College, an independent, liberal arts institution in the Catholic tradition of American higher education, is located in Rochester, New York. The college is 55 years old with a student body composed of nearly 2,200 full-time and 900 part-time students.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: An outline history of Poland emphasizing the major themes in Polish history and contrasting Polish developments with the Russian and Western European patterns.

History 335 The History of Modern Poland
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A history of Poland from the destruction of the state at the end of the 18th century until today. Emphasis is placed on the struggle for national survival during the 19th century, Poland's rebirth during World War 1, the destruction of the Second World War, the imposition of Communist rule, and the rise and meaning of Solidarity.
